The 2 Week Web Design Process
I work with each client exclusively during the 2 week process. This means that for the time period, you have my undivided attention and the focus on completely on you and your business.

SCHEDULE YOUR DISCOVERY CALL
The first step is to schedule a call. Here you can find out everything you want to know about the design process & I learn more about what you’re looking for.

SAVE YOUR DESIGN DATE
Now you get to choose when you want your website completed. Make sure to pick a date that will give you time to complete the client homework.
Your design date is secured once you sign your contract and pay the deposit.

CLIENT HOMEWORK
Before your design date starts you’ll need to complete the client homework. You’ll be sent instructions and prompts on how to set up a Pinterest inspiration board, complete your web design questionnaire and how to deliver your content - photos and text.

WEBSITE DESIGN
Week 1 - starts with the initial colour palette and typography brief. Once approved, your work is done and you can sit back and relax while I design the website and build out all of your content.

REVISIONS
Week 2 - is where I implement any feedback you supply and complete your requested changes. I also do the final touches on the website, connecting links and functionality to make sure everything works perfectly.

WEBSITE LAUNCH
On the final day of week 2 we’ll have a Squarespace lesson where I show you how to use, update and maintain your website, answer any final questions for you and launch your new website to the world.

It's also easy to maintain and update yourself when you have a new book release or need to change something. Plus if you need to it's a simple process to add a blog or store to your website as Squarespace has those options included.

Squarespace subscription - you'll need to sign up for a Squarespace plan upon completion of your website design project. But don't worry, I'll guide you through this process on our final call before I hand over your website. You can view their pricing here: https://www.squarespace.com/pricing
Domain name - If you're a new Squarespace subscriber you can get a free domain through Squarespace for the first year, if you sign up for an annual Squarespace plan. After the first year you'll be required to pay their yearly fee for the domain. If you already have a domain from another provider, don't worry, you can still use that too. I'll simply connect it to your new website.
Any photos or website text - You're responsible for all of the text and photos for your website. But don't stress - once you're booked on my calendar, I send you guides and worksheets to help you craft your words and links to resources where you can source photos.

These pages showcase your book titles and are seperate from your main navigation pages eg home, about, contact etc. Each of your books either has an individual book page to showcase it to your readers or is part of a series book page.
Individual Book Pages: Each of your book titles will have one page for each of them. It will have a photo of the book cover, along with the title, blurb and links to purchase.
Series Book Pages: These showcase each of the books in one series on one page. It will usually show a photo of each of the book covers, along with the title, series name and number, blurb and links to purchase for each book.
Individual books pages and series pages have the same overall design for each of their pages, except with the book and copy changing for each page's title/series.

Unlimited edits mean just that. You're able to submit any design changes you would like during the revision days in the 2nd week.
There is a process in place about exactly how to request changes but that will be covered in more detail after you've booked.
The main thing you need to remember is to make sure that you've requested everything you want by the Thursday (AEST) so that I can implement them.

Yes, I'll be still be able to connect your domain your new Squarespace website as long as you have DNS access with your domain name host.

Don't worry, you can purchase a domain through either Squarespace or a different provider depending on what you want.
Squarespace also offers a free domain name for the first year if you purchase an annual plan with them.

You'll need to complete the brand/author questionnaire, gather all of your photos and website copy (your written website text) and have it ready BEFORE your design start date.
But don't stress, after you book I provide you with guides and worksheets to help you craft your words and links to resources where you can source photos.

YES! Because this is a 2 week design process, all of your content and images are due BEFORE your design date.
This allows us to start and finish your project on time. Both for you and the clients that come after you.

This depends entirely on you and how quickly you can prepare all of your content & complete the questionnaires. A good rule of thumb is usually 2 weeks to a month to complete this.
Be kind to yourself and give yourself some leeway when you book in. This part always takes longer than you think.

I require a 50% non refundable deposit to book & secure your spot on my design schedule. The remaining 50% is due on the final day of the design project, before I hand over the website to you.
